Quincy had a major swim meet this weekend with some events having 100 kids in them! Crazy! Anyway, he swam all morning on Saturday and Sunday, doing fairly well despite the overwhelming competition. He managed to pull off a 1st in his heat for 50 butterfly. He did get disqualified on backstroke for not touching the wall on his flip turn. Oh well, live and learn. We all spent all morning at the meet on Saturday, but today, just Q and I went. It is a bit much to keep all the kids entertained when we are at meets for more than 5 hours at a time. I felt so motivated by Quincy's swimming, that after the meet yesterday, I headed to the gym to try my own hand at swimming laps. Ughhhh! I thought I was going to die! How do those kids do that? Guess I better work on it if I'm going to keep pushing them to swim.... After the meet today, Quincy had a great time by having a friend over from school and playing the afternoon away. Tabitha and I went to see a local production of the "Nutcracker". It was fantastic and even more enjoyable for Taba because 2 of her good friends had roles in the ballet. Only one more day off for the kids before it's back to school time....
