While running out for the mail this morning, my foot slipped and a fell hard down the last 4-5 steps of our incredibly solid cement staircase to the front door. I landed on my right arm and rear-end twisting my foot and knee in the process. Ouch! I was behind our front gate/wall so no one could see me, thank goodness. I am fine but will definitely be sore in the morning! This incident certainly made me think... Quincy and Tabitha were at school, Josh was at work and my little guys were in the house - they didn't even know that I had gone out. I don't know what I would have done if I would have been seriously hurt! I'm sure I could have attracted the attention of a neighbor but I don't know how I would have been able to explain what I needed or how to get in touch with Josh or who could watch the boys. Scary! I guess I better slow down when I get the mail! Most of our day today was spent at home. We had an electrician come out to fix the numerous little quirky things that needed fixed around the house and he ended up being here for most of the day. So, I had to just hang out. The boys played with each other and with Quincy when he came home from school. Tabitha spent the day at a friend's house. I did a lot of research on the internet for our upcoming trip to Italy. We leave on Sunday and plan to see Rome, Florence and Venice before returning home the following Sunday. After the electrician left, we headed over to pick up Taba and ended up being invited to stay for cake and coffee. The kids had a great time playing with the kids in that family while I visited with the mother. Very nice....

I read about a woman who learned the hard way to wear a coat and to carry a cell phone even though only going to the mailbox. Anyone can fall and be out of sight for too long.
