We just arrived back home after a fantastic couple of days away. On Wednesday evening, we drove up to Josh's mom's house where we spent the night and did some visiting. We celebrated Josh's birthday again and enjoyed relaxing at "Grandma's". On Thursday morning, we took the kids and the dog over to my sister's house. Sarah had very generously agreed to watch the kids (and Coco) while Josh and I went up to Chicago for a little New Years getaway. We had a fantastic time despite the bitter cold this morning while the kids had a ball playing and celebrating with their cousins.
Josh and I got in some shopping on Michigan Avenue,
enjoyed the gorgeous views from our hotel,
watched the New Years fireworks,
did lots of walking along the lake shore
and enjoyed a fantastic surf and turf dinner at the Palm Restaurant.
What a way to issue in the New Year!
