A letter came home from school with all of our kids today, declaring the Monday after the Super Bowl as an official day off of school in honor of the Colts. This day was declared by the Archbishop for all of the Catholic schools in the Indianapolis Archdiocese! Apparently, the Colts are quite positive role models and supporters of the community and the Archbishop wants to give everyone the opportunity to show support during the Super Bowl without having to worry about going to school the next day. Wow! The kids are thrilled, of course, until Good Friday, when they will be in school, making up for this day off.

Tabitha is discovering that being an 8th grader certainly has it's perks. The 8th grade class all received t-shirts last week that they are now allowed to wear every Friday in lieu of their uniform shirts. They all feel like such big shots!

I think that's the dumbest thing I ever heard. They have a day off to celebrate a sports team and then go to school on almost the biggest day of the church calendar? What is being taught here?
Taba, I do like your shirt.
