Teamwork!

We had to do some serious teamwork today! This is definitely a "teambuilding" experience for our family.... I took the kids to the big "Target" kind of store this morning because I knew that we needed many different things - more than we could get at the little grocery store that we walk to. We got there without a problem (thanks to my GPS with it's British accent that we fondly refer to as Hermoine) only to be thwarted right off the bat! You need a 1 Euro piece or a little plastic token to unlock one grocery cart from the next - we knew this and were prepared but could not unlock any to save our lives! It was ridiculous! I saw all of these other people do it without a problem but despite the 10 different carts we tried, we could not do it. So.... I made some immediate adjustments to my shopping list in my head and told the kids that we would all just have to carry stuff. They were great, they pitched in and carried everything they possibly could despite the funny looks we got from the other shoppers. Quincy even carried a big, new vacuum all the way out to the car without a problem. We then drove out to our new house where everyone pitched in without being asked to get the house completely cleaned and ready for moving in when and if our things ever arrive. I had then promised to take the kids to the beach afterwards because they had been so helpful all day so we headed to the beach only to figure out that the tide was out and that means the tide was waaaaayyyyy out! It was certainly not the same beach that we had played in on Sunday. The kids took it all in stride though and had a great time looking for sea shells and what not. Our consultant came over late this afternoon to go through the school paperwork with me. Wow! It took us almost 90 minutes to just get through all the pre- schoolyear forms to fill out! Ughhh! It's all the same as in the US, just not in our language!

What wonderful helpers you have !!! Please, next time you go to the store, ask somebody for help so as to get a grocery-cart : "Pouvez-vous m'aider, s'il vous plaƮt ? Je voudrais un chariot"...

I love your pictures (it reminds me so much !)! When Gwendal saw your family-size jar of Nutella, he was amazed... It is twice bigger than here ... but still don't last very long I guess...

Have fun and enjoy !
