Batesville is involved in a big Grant contest in an attempt to win money to revamp our downtown. We sorely need this so are more than ready to do whatever we can do to help. On Sunday afternoon, that involved all of us standing out in the freezing cold with 600 other residents while they took a picture of all us creating the shape of a star. This photo will now go on the cover of our grant application to try to show how united and eager we are to win. We are also participating in a contest through Readers Digest.com, in an attempt to win some other small town money. Too bad that the days of the Hillenbrand family deep pockets are long gone...
Quincy is now on his way home from Utah. He has had a fantastic time and we are eager to hear all about it.
I can hardly function in my real life these days, I am so caught up in World War II.... Laura Hillenbrand's new book, Unbroken, has me absolutely captivated! Too bad that I worked for 7 hours today, otherwise I certainly would have finished it!
