Tacos and Nuns

Even though the roads were much worse this morning than they were at any point yesterday, the kids only had a 90 minute delay before heading off to school. It was my turn to drive everyone so we bravely headed out. No trouble but it was definitely slow going and pretty slick. After coming home and taking care of a few things around the house, I headed to my French friend's house for some Galette Des Rois. This time, she had invited a whole group of female neighbors and we had a great time. Once again this month, I was not crowned as Queen! Bummer! I came home to clear the driveway yet again... third time this week! I was supposed to drive to Greensburg to talk to a cabinet maker to have them make a new cabinet for us, however the streets were still too slippery to make that 30 mile roundtrip.

Our ugly 80's trash compactor has truly bit the dust so we plan to just put in a cabinet in that spot when we take it out.

Unfortunately, they want a door from another cabinet to match it so I will have a door missing for however long they need it. I'm not happy about that!

When I picked up Tabitha from basketball practice tonight, I asked her what she had for lunch today. She said, "Nuns and tacos" I thought that seemed extremely strange and cannibalistic so she quickly assured me that they did not eat the nuns, just visited with a group of retired nuns while they all ate tacos. Whew! You never know what goes on in high schools these days!
Calvin was very excited when he came home from school today, he not only got certified in CPR today, but he also made the junior high Academic Team. He is really looking forward to competing.
