Deviation

Everywhere that I went today seemed to bear that sign.... "Deviation". Meaning that my route was blocked and I had to take a detour for some reason or another. Only Quincy had school this morning but the rest of the kids had their day packed with extra-curricular activities. We usually walk or ride bikes just about everywhere but since my knee is still giving me such pain, I decided to drive the kids to their various lessons and practices. Big mistake! In the future, I will remember that often it is easier (and faster) to walk than to drive. I still can't get over how the French just close a street for construction, utilities, moving, whatever the need. They do it without warning and without alternatives. You are just one your own to back your way back out of that street and find a different way to go. This truck had our street closed for hours this afternoon. The driver just looked at me and shrugged as I tried to get to my own house.
