And the snow keeps coming!

Wow! We are certainly getting the snow and it is that wet, heavy stuff that makes great snowballs and snowmen. They made such dire predictions for this storm yesterday that we felt like we were just sitting around in anticipation all day yesterday. The kids went to school as scheduled but it was already a misty, half sleeting rain. Around lunch time, that turned into big, fat snow flakes and by the time I picked up the kids from school, that snow was starting to make a mess of the roads. Quincy's school was let out a few minutes early and all after school practices for all of the kids were cancelled. This made a very nice evening for us. Quincy and Max each went to a friend's house to spend the night. They said that they preferred to be stuck with friends rather than stuck at home so we got them where they wanted to go for sleep overs. Calvin and Tabitha were thrilled to just have the quiet house to themselves while Josh and I went over to our French friends and neighbors for dinner. Gaelle and Alain served us and another couple the traditional winter Alps meal of raclette and salad. The food was delicious, the cheese was just as stinky as in France, and the company was great fun. We topped off the evening with multiple games of pool and a short snowball fight. We really had a fantastic time. All of the kids' activities have been cancelled again for today and the snow is still coming down so we plan to just kick back and relax.
