Classroom Time

The life of a Catholic school parent during Catholic Schools Week is not easy.... There is so much to take part in that it becomes a full time job. Yesterday, my mom and dad and Josh's mom and I all attended a school Mass with Calvin and Tabitha's classes. We were then allowed to observe them in the classroom for an hour. We came home briefly after that before we returned to school to join Josh and all three kids for lunch. After lunch, I came home and got ready for my French club at 3 while my mom and dad headed back to their part of Ohio. Today, Janis and I attended Mass with Max's class before we sat in on his math class for an hour. I then stepped in for a couple of teachers by watching their classrooms during recess and lunch so that the teachers could enjoy a rare, kid-free lunch together.

I quickly discovered that two classrooms full of fourth graders are far easier to manage than one classroom full of 8th graders! Wow! They certainly like to test their limits. Especially the boys!

This afternoon sent us back to school to watch the school talent show. Max and Calvin had prepared a diabolo exhibition as their talent.

They did a great job and got roaring applause each time they threw their diabolos as high as the gym ceiling and caught them as they came back down. Max was really hamming it up.

Very fun! The whole talent show was exceptionally well done and very fun to watch. Kids had to try out and be accepted so it was really the cream of the crop and a wide variety of talents. I captured just a little snippet of Max and Calvin on video but you can get the idea. The crowd got more and more in to it as the song went on.

It was topped off by a hilarious lip-synching skit done by the teachers.
I am now off to Tabitha's basketball game while Josh picks up Max from swim team and takes him to his guitar lesson. A big snow storm is predicted for tonight so the kids have their fingers crossed for yet another snow day.
