No matter what age I am, I really cannot get enough celebrating in for my birthday. So, when my local friends offered to take me out for lunch today to celebrate my birthday - of course, I jumped at the opportunity. We had a wonderful, long, leisurely lunch before jumping back into our crazy lives. I was playing a whole lot of catch up today, trying to make up for all of the days that I was gone and not getting things done. I am the chairperson on one of the committees for this weekend's huge fundraiser auction for Quincy's school so my to-do list for this event will just get longer until Saturday night when it is all over. I also had my French club meeting at the grade school. I love watching these kids learn and their interest in the French language and culture just grows! However, some poor child is forgotten by their parents every single time! It just amazes me - I don't think that we have ever completely forgotten one of our kids! Today, we waited more than 40 minutes with one kid, called his home twice and his grandparents' home once but were never able to get a hold of anyone. I finally decided that I was just going to drive him to his grandparents' house because it was much closer than his parents'. Just as we were getting in my car, his dad drove up. Apologized profusely and said "I just forgot him." So, all of you harried and over scheduled parents out there, if you are ever the one who forgets, don't waste your time feeling guilty about it! Apparently, it happens to just about everyone!

Where is the brick?
The brick is at the New Orleans Aquarium. Josh's dad bought it for him when they were building the aquarium in 1990. Took us awhile to find it but fun to see.
