Pickin' Blueberries!

We woke to a cloudy and windy morning but at least the humidity had decreased and the temperatures were much more normal. After swim team practice, the kids and I headed out to the local organic blueberry farm where you can pick your own blueberries.




The bushes were just loaded with fruit and the 6 of us picked 8 pounds of blueberries in just about 30 minutes. That is in addition to the 8 pounds that Max and Calvin put away while picking! After spending the afternoon at the pool, we got busy deciding what to do with all of these berries.

The other French girl in town was with us while her host family was out of town so we put her to work as well. We made blueberry sauce which we enjoyed on cheesecake for dinner,

we then made a blueberry pie and some blueberry muffins.

We still have at least 4 pounds left so when we are finished snacking on them fresh and putting them on our cereal, I will freeze some for a later date.
