It's all part of the learning process....Today I was in a hurry at lunch time because Josh was taking the afternoon off from work so that he and I could take care of some "business" kind of stuff - banking things, car registering, etc. Anyway, I was doing some shopping at our local "Target" and wanted to grab some lunch for the two of us so we would have more time to do our stuff. So, knowing that this little deli place in the little mall I was in always had some good sandwiches on display, I ran over there with my whole cart full of "Target" items. I manuevered my cart to the front of the line, successfully discovered that I needed to be in the line that served the carry-out items and not the "eat in" items and then successfully placed my order. Feeling quite good about my speedy progress so far, I paid the woman, reached out for my sandwiches, only to have her pop them into a panini grill! Belatedly, I realized that the "Toaste" on the sign at the end of the name of our sandwiches meant that they would actually toast them before serving them!! Ughhh! I didn't have time for that but what could I do!? I couldn't explain to her that I didn't want them toasted and I couldn't tell her that I didn't have time to wait. So... I waited.... I had already paid!! I called Josh to tell him that I would be late and then I just stood there, with my whole cart full of stuff, right in front of the counter, in the way of the rest of the people. I was afraid to get too far out of the woman's line of vision for fear she would have to call to me when the sandwiches were ready or that she would forget who they were for and that I would have to figure out how to ask for them! It was quite awkward and took more than 10 minutes! Whew! Live and learn! I also realized today that I have a whole purse full of change and small bills! When I have to pay cash for something, I always way over pay (like giving a 20 for something that costs 5) just so that I know my bill will cover it and I will not have to stumble through all the various coins or try to figure out how much the clerk is telling me that it costs. It is so much easier to pay with a credit card where you just hand over the card and the actual amount doesn't matter so much. Of course, credit cards are not an easy issue either as US cards swipe differently in their machines and I often have to demonstrate how it works before they will try to accept it. Some stores refuse to take them. Tabitha had an English test today and was of course, quite sure that she would do well on it. After school, she told me that she did very well until they were asked to name the capitals of the British Isles!! Yikes! Not quite what she had in mind! We had a great day today. I went for a long walk in the opposite direction around our peninsula than I usually do. It was nice to see the different views and how close we are to the city of Vannes which is right across the water. I had a dog leave the fisherman that he was with on the landing and walk with me the whole time. When I would stop, he would stop. He was very nice company. When I had circled back on the trails and walked by the landing again on my way home, he gave me a long look and then ran back to his fishermen. Josh and I got all of our business stuff accomplished today in a very timely manner. We were quite proud of ourselves. We were able to mail a package, clear up a phone bill issue, turn in the real estate papers on our house, register our cars, and clear up some banking questions - all by ourselves!! Quite exciting. Everything is so civilized and organized here! Even the car registration was timely and pleasant! To celebrate our accomplishments, we went shopping! We have long been in need of electronics as we could not bring anything with us. So, we bought a toaster, a mixer and a blender as well as some lamps. Very fun! Of course, when we got the lamps home, we realized that we desparately need extension cords as our house has only one outlet per wall in a room and sometimes not even that many. Each outlet only has one socket too so it's not like you can plug in two things. So, we have lamps but we still can't use them. My pictures today are of my walk this morning....

The boat in the first picture looks like a passenger ferry.
Where all does it run?
