Wooden Shoes and Gouda Cheese

Can't beat it! Things are finally looking up. Calvin is truly getting better today. A little bit of a fever this morning so he and Josh stayed onboard while the other kids and I took a bus trip outside of Amsterdam. We toured a small cheese farm and a wooden shoe making place before going to the village of Edam to see a cheese market and enjoy the beautiful canals and 17th century architecture. Max and I love this country! We are putting it on our list of places to live. Just gorgeous! Canals and cows everywhere! We had a great time tasting cheeses and even purchasing a few. We came back to the boat for a late lunch and by then, Calvin was well enough to join us. So, we all got off the boat for a canal cruise through Amsterdam. Incredible! Beautiful houses, house boats and cafes. Very fun. We all had a wonderful dinner on our very Italian cruise ship which included both octopus and cuttle fish topped off with some very good wine. Ahhhh.... now, it's finally time to relax.
