Back to the Beach

We finally made it back to the beach today for the first time since we returned to France. It wasn't the warm, sunny beaches of Turkey, but (sigh) what can you do.... Anyway, we picked up our American friends, Meghan and Susie, and drove out to one of our local gulf beaches for a little sand time. The tide was out so the kids looked for various sea critters, played some sand football, and did some reading while Susie and I chatted.



This afternoon, I finally got my dryer fixed!!! Catching up on our vacation laundry has been virtually impossible with having to hang the stuff to dry! When the appliance guy came, he spoke only French but after working on our dryer.... he asked in French if we were American. When I said "yes", he said (in English).... "I knew it because your machine is so big." He then proceeded to tell me that machines in France are getting bigger and bigger as Whirlpool has now started selling here.
