Return to France

We have made it back home again and I am just thrilled to actually be sitting at my own desk in my own bedroom again.  One month is a long time to be away from home.  Everyone breathed a huge sigh of relief when we pulled up in front of our house and the little boys couldn't wait to get into their own beds tonight.  The high point of the evening was of course, bringing our puppy home from the kennel.  The kids just about smothered her with affection and she was more than happy to take it.  Before we left Lafayette on Saturday afternoon, we were able to get Josh's dad settled into a very nice skilled nursing facility where he can continue to receive the various therapies he needs as well as live in a safe environment while his memory continues to be limited.  With all of the craziness and sadness that went on in the past month, we started to forget that we did have some fun times as well.... It was nice to look through my pictures tonight and to be reminded of those good times....  The kids got to attend all of their scheduled camps without interruption, we all got to see just a bit of the filming of an Extreme Home Makeover before we were kicked out, I went to Sedona and had a wonderful time with my friend, Leah, we were all able to enjoy our annual trip to Notre Dame, we all got to visit various friends and family, and we even attended the church festival in my mom's home town on Sunday afternoon - that brought back many happy childhood memories.....
