I am posting just a few of the many, many printed pages that I have come across that will enable the French to always keep this day foremost in their minds.... One picture is from the front cover of a kindergarten children's magazine and the other two pages are just listings of the many, many D-Day events that were celebrated in France.

These were the ones that took place in just our region of the country! The American's involvement in World War II is never forgotten in the lives of the French and you can hardly walk anywhere on the coast without stumbling across some sort of Memorial for this very reason. When some ignorant American mumbles under their breath about the French by saying, "They would be speaking German if it weren't for us...", I just want to shake them and say, "Don't you think they know that and don't you think for one minute that they do not appreciate it."
Today was another cool and rainy one. We have had buckets of rain lately with the ground sopping wet and the lawn growing like crazy. I am hoping that the little peek of blue sky that I can see out the window right now is signaling a dry spell for at least the next few days. I am leaving tomorrow morning to take an early train to Paris where I will meet my college roommate and her mother. We will spend a few days in Paris (attending a pastry making class for part of the time!) before catching a late train Friday night back to Vannes. I will then spend the next several days introducing Leah and Donna to our part of France. Looking forward to it!
