It was Hot!

We often have beautiful weather here year round but it is never truly hot or ever truly cold. Sometimes, you just long for a hot day! We actually had one today!! It had to be the warmest today that it has been since we moved here. It reached 86 degrees and we loved it! I saw a whole new side of France that I have never seen, namely, summer clothes! I saw some shorts, lots of tank tops, short flouncy skirts on the women and either long shorts or capris on the men. I saw sandals and flip flops, I saw hats and even baseball caps to keep the sun off. I DIDN'T see a single scarf today and I saw very few black pieces of clothing! Very bizarre!

It is very hard to do the things that you are supposed to do when you just want to do fun things. We are finding this to be more and more of a problem as our time here just keeps getting shorter and shorter. I find myself eating less healthy as I want to try every bit of French food and pastry that I possibly can before we leave (ironically enough, I am reading "French Women Don't Get Fat" at the same time). I also find myself less wanting to stick to our routine. So, today, we broke that routine. Instead of going to basketball practices and music lessons this afternoon, Tabitha went to the home of a friend to go swimming in her pool while the boys and I took Coco to the beach. It was a perfect day! One of the only days that I can remember not being cold while visiting the Atlantic. Max and Calvin swam in the ocean while Coco and I waded in. We all then lounged and played in the hot sand. Wonderful! To quote Josh about my decision to hit the beach today.... "Who gives a crap about one more basketball practice when you live in France and can go to the beach!" Here, here!

Looks like you had our Monday weather. It was only 54F yesterday. Cold and rainy here so we enjoyed seeing the beach pictures. Keep having fun!
