In the Kitchen

After eating in restaurants all weekend, I am always thrilled to be back in my own kitchen and doing my own cooking. So, after a giant super market run through torrential downpours (did the rain follow us home from Ireland?), I put myself to work. We had a feast of roasted asparagus, homemade crab cakes, and raspberry crumble (made with raspberries from our yard) for dinner tonight. Yum!
There was a big scandal at the elementary school on Friday, apparently. (We weren't there) The one local person to have contracted the swine flu is the father of a student at the boys' school. Apparently, this girl was in school on Friday and everyone was upset that she might be carrying these germs and infecting others. Reassurances by the family doctor and the director of the school calmed everyone down, a bit.
