Bon Voyage!!!

I didn't mean to sound like we are not having any fun these days.... This week, Tabitha is enjoying Josh's mom at "Camp Grandma" while the boys and I hang out together. Quincy just got home from "striking the set" at the end of his technical theater class that he has been taking all summer. He has been learning how to build sets and work the sounds and lights at the Civic Theater. He has really enjoyed it and is so handy with power tools that they truly enjoyed his help. He does tell me that he much prefers being center stage instead of behind the scenes, however. We have also been completely gorging ourselves with all of the fresh fruit and vegetables that we can get from the local farmer's market. We have had blueberries, strawberries, corn on the cob, kale, and fresh herbs in addition to the tomatoes and cucumbers that we are growing in our own garden!! We love it! Today, I am preparing for Josh and I to leave on our "look see" trip to France tomorrow. We will be gone for one week and plan to find a house, buy a car, and open a bank account!! Hope we can get all of that accomplished! We will also be joining Josh's new boss and his wife for dinner one night! I sure hope that someone will speak English! Calvin will be gone all week at "Asthma Camp" for his first overnight camp. Sigh... my little boy is really growing up. When I was packing his bag for camp, I put in some rose colored sheets for his bed and he very calmly took them back out and said that he is not taking "Pink" sheets to camp! One year ago, he wouldn't have even noticed! He also told me to stop singing in the car because it was "embarrassing". While Calvin is at asthma camp, Max will be at "camp" with my mom and dad while Josh' mom stays here with Quincy and Taba. Very complicated! But thanks to our supportive parents, it should all work out well! I have to brag about how great my kids are and show you this quote from a friend we visited last week... "You really have the most delightful family. If Grace turns out to be a fraction as nice, polite and respectful as your four children, Matt and I will have done a good job. The four of them really are among the nicest children I've ever met. You and Josh have done good work! And if you're willing to share your secrets, know that this new parent would be most grateful!" Isn't that great to hear!!!?! We need those accolades once in awhile! Well, I better go pack for France! Bon voyage!! We'll try to blog from there and share our "look see" experiences but I won't make any promises!
