Okay, maybe not so perfect....

Things did not work out quite as planned today.... We got together with our consultant first thing in the morning this morning (which means 9:30 a.m. around here)and quickly looked at one house that was right in her village. We discovered right off the bat that it was way too small although it was in a very good area. So, we immediately tried to call the leasing agent for the house I had told you about yesterday, we could not get a hold of him despite many efforts so we decided to just drive out to the house. Our consultant came with us and we drove up to the house coincidentally right as the owner was pulling up. He was very interested in us renting the house but when he called the leasing agent to set it up, he was told that someone else had signed the papers yesterday!!! Very disappointing. We spent some time discussing and thinking and then decided to go back out to our original choice which was the one on the Gulf of Morbihan, just off the Atlantic Ocean. After looking around in great depth this time and testing the drive to and from the schools, we decided again that it would be a great choice. It actually has two closets, 6 bedrooms, a wine cellar, a laundry room, a magnifique cuisine (wonderful kitchen)and a the biggest garden (yard) of any that we have seen. There is even a basketball hoop at the end of the drive!! Can't beat it! We have verbally agreed to take this house and will sign the lease in the morning!! Whew!!! In the process of all of this, we did find out that the middle school closest to this school is the one that people drive in from everywhere to attend, supposed to be the best around. This will be in Sene, just south of Vannes. Actually, it is about a 5 minute boat ride to Vannes but a 15 minute drive. May have to get a boat! The remainder of the day was fun. We did some price shopping for appliances and electronics. Tres expensive but many options to choose from!!! The washer and dryer are smaller than anything that I have ever seen but they do have the Americaine version available on some things which are much bigger! We also had lunch by the sea in a cute little outdoor bistro and walked around the water front in Arradon today. Beautiful!!! Our consultant and her husband were having a small gathering of friends over for tea this afternoon and invited us to join them. We had a very nice time with their French friends from Paris. 2 of them spoke excellent English so they made sure to include us in their conversations. Very fun! In these pictures, you can see the harbor at Arradon, Heidi sitting by the sea, the French doors to our salon (living room) in our new house and the view from the backyard which goes straight down the road to the gulf. Au Revoir!
