Appreciation Dinner

I just got home from the PTO volunteer appreciation dinner. It was a very nice evening, sponsored by the PTO to show appreciation for all of the many volunteer hours that are put in throughout the year by many of the parents. Unfortunately, this year's dinner ended in me being officially elected as the PTO vice-president for next year. So, all of my volunteering just ended up getting me signed up for even more volunteering!!
Calvin and Tabitha had their end of the year concerts for band and choir. Only three band members (out of 4) showed up so the band is lacking a bit. Calvin is seated just in front of the director so you can't see him well but rest assured, he is playing his trumpet proudly.

Tabitha is not hard to spot in the choir. She loves to sing in any situation so she is happy as a clam to sing with this group.

I spent the day painting a first coat on our bedroom walls. We will soon be rid of the boring off-white color.

It was the last French club meeting of the school year today. After a lively scavenger hunt, we tried to create Eiffel Towers out of cookies and icing. Only Tabitha had the patience and skill to build a tower that remained standing.
Tabitha will leave at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow for a class trip to Chicago. They will return at 2:00 a.m on Friday morning and then enjoy a day off from school. Tabitha is very, very excited about her trip but Quincy can't help but compare it to the week long trip he took with his class to London last year.
