Tabitha on the Field

Last night, we finally had a break from all of the practices! Only Calvin had soccer practice but it was only an hour long so we took the evening to relax and enjoy some down time. Josh and I sat on the deck with a beer and our books. Calvin and Max had a friend over and watched a movie. Tabitha went to the high school football game with friends. Quincy and Leo went to a party at friend's house down the street. Everyone was in bed by 11 and happy to be there. Very nice evening. Today started early with soccer games at 7:15 a.m. Unfortunately, that is precisely when it started pouring down rain. The kids got soaked while doing their warm ups in the rain but just before the game began, lightning was spotted and both Calvin and Max had their games cancelled.

Tabitha and I took off for Columbus, IN in the rain however because her game was still on. The rain stopped and Tabitha played. She did a very good job with being right there in the action despite the fact that she has never really played soccer.

Her team lost despite their best efforts however so it was a quiet ride home. After Josh ran all of the boys into Cincinnati for Quincy's acting class and some shopping for tennis supplies for Leo, we all headed out to the local "farm" where community events are often held. Today, the Rural Alliance for the Arts was hosting a Cirque Extravaganza. There was music, food, aerial acts, bouncy castles (which we avoid like the plague), stilt walking, tight rope walking and dunk tanks.

We all had a great time and stunned the workers when our whole family got up on stilts and walked around a bit. He couldn't believe that we could all do it! Little did he know that we all love to do this at grandma and grandpa's house! Very fun. It's now time for Josh and I to go to dinner with friends at the country club while the younger kids hang out at home. Quincy and Leo are off to yet another high school party.
