The kids are on vacation this week but Josh has to go to work each day. He does get to have a more relaxed schedule, however as the plant is on mandatory shut down, so only a select few are actually working. So, we all slept in a bit this morning and got to enjoy a slow start to our day. It rained all day long, more than the usual. Tonight, the winds are supposed to pick up to 40 mph and we're supposed to get even more rain. Wonder what that means for the Alps where Quincy is skiing? Tabitha went to a friend's house again for the afternoon while the little boys and I did a little shopping. They are so handy to have along because I can communicate more complicated things with their help. For example, today, I needed the sizes that were on the mannequin for Max to try on and would never have been able to communicate that at all. Calvin, however, could just rattle all of that off with no problem at all.
When I went to pick up Tabitha this evening, it dawned on me, just how much of an expert that I have become on the whole cheek kissing greeting thing;
1) Always start on the right
2) Make sure to pull back far enough before going for the left cheek that you do not actually bump noses
3) Do not greet someone that you are just meeting for the first time this way but it is expected every time thereafter
4) Make sure to beg off of this kind of greeting if you are sick
5) This is the proper way to say "hello" and "goodbye" at the home of a friend or acquaintance
6) Remove sunglasses before greeting in this fashion
7) Hold umbrellas down and out of the way when greeting
8) Greet friends on the street in this manner as well, the cars will wait
9) No other body part comes in contact, not even hands, only cheeks

That still doesn't make me want to try it. I don't even really like to shake hands.
