French Monopoly

Today, I ran into Cincinnati to do a little shopping with my French friend, Gaëlle. I had realized yesterday that our little boys do not have any winter coats. We were so spoiled in France with such mild winters that we never invested in warmer coats.
After lunch, I raced home to prepare for this afternoon's session of French club. Today was with my older group, which is a smaller group. Because of the size, we are able to play more games and get a bit more creative. Today, we tried our hand at the French version of Monopoly. We tried to find out a bit about each property that is present on the board, we located it on our map of France and then proceeded to play the game. Doing all of our counting in French, and learning the difference between the dollar and the Euro. Calvin, Tabitha, or Max did any reading that had to be done but the rest of the time, everyone was able to play. It was fun!



After standing next to Quincy and Josh in church on Sunday, it seemed to me that Quincy has really gotten tall. Discussing it later with Josh, he told me that he even had to look down once because he thought Quincy was standing on the kneeler. So, this morning, I thought it was time to measure Quincy and to see just how tall he had gotten lately. He is suddenly 6'2"! I couldn't believe it! Sure seems like that happened over night.
