It's All About the Credit

We had another gorgeous and warm day today. It prompted us to get all sorts of little jobs done around the house and gave the kids ample opportunity to get outside and play with friends. Max only came inside twice last night during the camp out because he was cold and then heard some big splash in the lake (we told him that it was probably just an alligator). Other than those brief conversations and pulling his mom and dad out of deep sleeps, he made it through the night and deemed their sleep out to be quite fantastic. Calvin started tennis lessons today at the Y, so while he played, we enjoyed a long walk through the neighborhood with Coco.

I am STILL waiting for my new car to arrive... We ordered my Ford Flex back in early August and were promised a six to eight week delivery time... My patience is wearing pretty thin...
In talking about my car buying with our French friends, we realized another difference between France and the U.S. When we moved to France, we needed to have a French bank account in our name early on but other than that, we were able to obtain everything we wanted simply by showing our electric bill to prove our residency. For Gaelle and Alain though, it has been quite different. Here, they are always being denied access to items because they don't have a US credit history. The large items that they have been able to buy have had huge fees attached because of this credit problem. It's apparently all about the credit history...

Your new car is going to be so cool! Will it be the only one like it in Batesville?
