Scavengers!

Tomorrow is "Large Trash Pick-up" for the town. That means that you can pile all of your old appliances and junk out by the curb and the city will haul it away. So, starting late this afternoon, pick up trucks were trolling the neighborhoods, looking for "treasure". It also means that our trash-lovin' boy, Maxwell, was having a field day, checking out all the good "stuff" that our neighbors were throwing away. He was convinced that he needed an old, cracked bird bath, or maybe that broken set of shelves, or maybe that big, old, bathtub that would be just perfect in his room! Josh also loves a good "treasure" when he sees one, so he took the opportunity to ask the next door neighbor about the canoe that he had hauled out to his curb. When the neighbor said that it was just dirty and needed a little patch work, Josh decided that it was just the thing for us to use on our lake.

So, Quincy and Max pulled it up into our backyard and can't wait to get it in working order...

I had a busy day of taking every opportunity to drive everywhere that I could and take people anywhere that they wanted to go, just so I could drive me new car. I absolutely love it!

I did have to go over to a friend's house for a charity luncheon today. She had asked me to give a little cooking demo for the other ladies at the lunch, just for entertainment purposes. I taught everyone how to make a very simple pain au chocolat and had a great time doing it. Everyone loved the fresh out of the oven pastries. I also put our living room back together now that the paint is all dry. I love the new look and feel like it is officially ready for guests.

This evening, Quincy hung out with the other boys from the swim team while Tabitha went with a group of friends to the regional football game. Unfortunately, our public high school lost after an undefeated season but the kids still had a great time. Josh and I went with the little boys to a friend's house for dinner. We had a great time catching up with friends that we haven't seen much of for 3 years while the boys had a ball with their friends. Now, it's time for bed...

Heide,
Love the new car. Looks like a European style. I also am admiring your painting of the port in Vannes. The wall color really compliments the painting. Nice work!
