They played through the pouring rain (and won!) and we all survived, so after some hot showers and a change of clothes for all, we enjoyed the rest of our day. Josh took all of the boys to Cincinnati for a shopping trip at the awesome International market of Jungle Jims while Tabitha went to an overnight friend's birthday party and I went to Louisville with my friend, Jane. Jane realized, sort of last minute, that she had some tickets to the Louisville Ballet that she needed to use and with two of her girls now in college, she had an extra ticket for me.

I drove the two hour trip to Louisville with her, her youngest daughter, and her female Chinese exchange student. We did a little shopping in the very nice city of Louisville before eating a wonderful dinner and attending the ballet to see Giselle. The ballet company also performed a very, very nice tribute to the armed forces and first responders in honor of September 11th. Very touching. We had a wonderful evening before heading out of the city to the empty condo of Jane's brother. We were able to spend the night there, before beginning a leisurely and shopping-filled trip home this afternoon. Very nice and very relaxing.
After an afternoon of cooking and hanging out with Josh and the kids, the seven of us headed over to our French friends' house for an apéritif, some visiting and a couple of fun games of pétanque on their lawn. We taught Leo a few French words before heading home to a big pot of Cajun tomato shrimp stew and some peach bread pudding. Wonderful...

Max created this wonderful little invention this weekend.... We will have the cleanest driveway in the neighborhood!
