I tried to recreate one of my beautiful and relaxing mornings in France with my friends yesterday. Three of my friends and I took our bikes to a great park about 25 minutes from our house. We biked 8 miles and then enjoyed some espresso and freshly baked scones that I had brought along while catching up on each other's lives. We had a great time and hope to do it again soon. One of the women is French but has lived here for more than 8 years. She has just found out that she and her family are being sent back to Europe for work. She hates to leave the US and her two oldest daughters have already decided that they will just stay here and go to college here.
Today, I volunteered in the the elementary school library for a few hours before running over to the high school to chaperone the Freshman retreat. Quincy was one of the facilitators at the retreat while Tabitha was one of the participants. They both seem to be having a very good time and took it all quite seriously. Part of the retreat involved the kids going to the local organic farm which is run by the local nuns. The kids helped out with some weeding and replanting so they got their hands dirty while the beefalos looked on.

Josh is heading to San Antonio for the next four days while we go to soccer games almost non-stop until Saturday evening.
Happy 中秋節 to Leo! Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! The Chinese celebrate this day of the autumn full moon with a family celebration and mooncakes. Leo tried to get some mooncakes from the local Chinese restaurant but I'm not sure that they came through for him.
