Soccer, Soccer and More Soccer

We go to soccer games, that's what we do... Quincy's team had a very nice win last night. Quincy continues to play better and better and is quickly overcoming all of those years of not playing. The temperature dropped by huge amounts yesterday so as we sat on the sidelines, buffeted by the wind, we were actually cold for the first time in a long time. Sweatshirts and blankets magically appeared out of people's trunks and everyone huddled together and shared. After the game, we invited some friends to come home with us and we all enjoyed a beautiful evening around our firepit on the deck. Very nice. The kids all have great fun at these games because all of their friends are there as well. Just a big free-for-all. Leo even got himself involved in a big pick-up soccer game that went on in a different field. He had a great time with friends, girls and boys alike.
Calvin and Max both have games this afternoon, despite the Holiday weekend. Calvin was mentioned in the local paper this week as one of the top players from his game last weekend. He is so enjoying his soccer team!

Calvin also joined the junior high youth ministry at school/church this week. They had their first gathering on Friday afternoon and apparently had a great time.

Max never even comes in the house after school these days. He just plays in the giant fort that he and a friend constructed out in our garage. He and Kent play there every chance they get... between soccer games and practices.

When I could no longer stand the torn leather, chipped paint and too low seats, I replaced our bar stools in the kitchen. The assembly took a bit of time but we all love the end result.
Looking forward to having the extended family here this weekend to meet Leo. Should be fun!
