Art, Wine, and Friends

Now, this is living....! Today, we slept in and then met some friends for a contemporary art exhibit at a 18th century "chateau" in the area. Our friend, Nicolas, is a finish carpenter and had been contracted by a famous contemporary artist to do the wood working that he needed for the pieces for his exhibit. So, we drove the 30 minutes to Domaine de Kerguehennec (www.art-kerguehennec.com) to view the exhibit of the artist, Guillame Leblon (http://www.galeriewolff.com/site/artists_detail.php?uid=8). Very interesting, a bit unusual, but interesting. We had a private tour with a guide so we were able to understand the thought processes behind his art. The weather today alternated between gorgeous sunny skies and sudden downpours so we took advantage of the sunshine to explore the grounds around the chateau. Absolute beautiful!! An unusual, historic setting for a contemporary museum. After the exhibit, we returned to the home of Nicolas and Anne-Marie for "an appertif" which turned into eating for the next 4 hours! We were never sure if this was a snack, lunch or what but we had plenty of really good food in a very relaxed setting. The kids had fun playing with their 3 children as well. After dropping our kids off at home to take care of Coco, Josh and I headed to a wine exposition that apparently comes to town 2x/year. For 5 Euros, we sampled wines, food, cheeses, olive oils, and champagnes and made some purchases to add to our wine cellar. 68 wineries were present, hawking their wares! Very fun! We are now trying to get the kids to bed early after such a busy weekend.
I"m sorry, I have beautiful pictures from today, but the server is not allowing me to post them. I will try again later....
