Becoming Legal

More running around today... My big kids had school this morning and Max had soccer practice. The soccer practice ended up being cancelled due to rain and all the rain that we have had lately so the little boys and I had some time to bake some chocolate chip cookies. Josh came home and joined us for lunch so that we could all go the mayor's office after lunch to do the next step toward our French residence permits. Don't worry, we've had a legal immigration status the whole time we've been here but we are just now getting our actual cards. All of this time has been filled with red tape, temporary status' and waiting for more paperwork! I can't imagine how anyone immigrates to another country without all of the help that we have received from our relocation assistants and from Josh's company. Today, we tried to start the ball rolling for our kids' cards, they haven't needed anything too formal because of their ages but they suggest we get them some cards as well. So, we all went to the office with the best intentions only to find out that we needed a note from the schools stating that they were enrolled as full-time students. So, more paperwork, more time and we will go again.....
Josh went back to work while the kids and I then headed to my American friend's house. Suzanne had just recently had a 2 week visit from her parents so she was fully stocked with all of the American essentials that we can't get here. Her parents were mules for me as well and this afternoon, I was able to pick up my essentials.... Crisco, cupcake liners, and ink for my printer!
Max lost a big front tooth today and is absolutely thrilled! He's giving us all kinds of big smiles to show it off...
