March Comes in Like a Lamb

We had a beautiful first day of March today. It was 60 degrees with beautiful blue skies and the chance for so many things to finally dry out! Everything is starting to bloom and we have realized that in the "empty" lot next door, there is actually a community garden where it seems that people pay to have a little plot of land to grow things on. We have seen more and more people coming and going as they take care of their plot. I don't quite know when to plant things around here so I keep watching to see what others do. I'm eager to get some flowers going in our window boxes. We do have many bushes beginning to bloom around our yard and it's really looking beautiful! Josh and I took full advantage of the weather and our accessibility to town and walked to the farmer's market, the bank, the post office and the library today. Much better doggie day today as well... thanks to Josh being home and having another adult to help out. Coco finally slept through the night again in her crate and had no accidents in the house. She has turned into a bit of a stunt dog however as she loves to run and really jump and almost flip when she is outside. We can't keep her off our steps to the outside even though they are quite big and steep and she is unable to go down them safely. Josh built a small fenced in pen for her today so she can have a small space in our big yard to be outside alone.... well within 20 minutes, she had jumped over the fence and out of the pen. Good thing our yard has a high wall around it! Guess we'll have to keep working on that.... The kids had a great day either playing outside with Coco, playing inside on the Skype with their cousins in Indiana, or playing with friends. Quincy realized that his friend, Hugo, lives within walking distance so he and Coco walked to Hugo's house and brought him home with them to play for several hours. I'm not sure if it makes me feel old or just very formal to have Quincy's 13 year old friends greet me with a kiss on both cheeks.
