We have been eating quite a bit of Crème Brûlée for dessert these days as I try to master the recipe that I learned in Paris. The written recipe was translated poorly so I have been fumbling a bit. Fortunately, we all love this wonderful dessert so no one is complaining too much as I make mistakes. Today, I got it right though and we had the perfect flavor and texture! Yum!

All four kids were off school today for Fall Break but unfortunately, it was a pretty wet day. We had some hard rain off and on all day that was occasionally interspersed with bits of sunshine.

During one of the brief sunny moments, we ran to the local pumpkin farm and picked up some pumpkins for carving. We then invited the little French boys over to learn how Americans carve pumpkins.

My kids enjoyed the teaching and doing while Theo and Estoban seemed to enjoy the doing very much.
