A Day of Cooking

After my morning walk, it started to rain... It then proceeded to rain throughout the rest of the day. So, after I did a little writing for my book, I decided to do some cooking. I have been eager to make those yummy French macarons that my friend taught me to make. This was my first attempt independently and with American ingredients (I had to mail order the almond powder that I needed since I couldn't find any around here!) ... They took several hours and lots of patience but turned out beautifully and delicious! I put together a plate of them and delivered them to the French family that now lives here and another family that lived in France for two years a couple of years before we were there. They were both thrilled to get their little plate of France today. Very fun! I then whipped up a French toast casserole for breakfast tomorrow and a lasagna for tomorrow evening. I love these kind of days! As soon as school let out, my day got crazy, as Calvin and Tabitha needed a ride after a Yearbook club meeting, Max needed a ride to and from swim team, Taba needed to get to swim team, the elementary school was hosting a pizza night that we needed to support, and Quincy needed a ride to a babysitting job. Whew.... I think I'll sit down and put my feet up now...
