French Club and Visiting Nuns

Sorry that I didn't blog yesterday, the time just got away from me. It is National Physical Therapy month so I was invited to the Rehab meeting at work at lunch time yesterday to share in their ice cream bar. I then went out to dinner last night with a group of physical therapists that I used to work with to celebrate our occupation. Great time!
Yesterday afternoon was the latest meeting of my French club. This time was with the third through fifth grade group. Tabitha is one of the school yearbook photographers so she took our pictures for the year book.

The kids had a great time finding the French word for everything in sight in the cafeteria and basement hallway and then labeling everything they could get their hands on. I was very proud to hear that one of my third grade French club students introduced herself to the local French family one day this week and proudly counted to 12 in French for them. They heaped praises on her so her enthusiasm for French has now doubled!
Today, we were happy to have some visitors to our little town. My aunt, who is a nun, drove down a couple of elderly nuns to visit the convent and cemetery that are associated with Quincy's school. My aunt Helen poked her head into Quincy's classroom and said "hello" before inviting me to join the three of them for lunch. We had a very nice visit and even some German food.

We were fortunate to have a beautiful day today because this was the day of the Halloween parade for K through the 4th grade. I was recruited to be one of the parent helpers for this event so I led the parade around the school grounds and then joined in the dancing party in the school gym.

The kids were then all allowed to pick out a free book from the Reading is Fundamental program.

The 8th graders helped throughout the party and wrote the child's name in each new book so it wouldn't be lost before they even got it home.
