Our Local French Chateau

With the boys conveniently losing yesterday in soccer, we were able to enjoy our entire day today without a single soccer game! Wonderful! We got all sorts of things done around the house, including completing the window treatments in our living room,

recovering the ottoman in the basement, taking a long walk, playing some basketball, doing some cleaning, and just relaxing together. It hit at least 85 degrees today but this morning was cool enough that we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room with a fire blazing in the fireplace.
Tabitha and I also got to see an amazing piece of architecture right here in B-ville!

I had heard about this "French Chateau" for the last couple of years. It was actually designed by an architect friend of mine but I had never actually seen it. It sits at least a mile back from the road, behind trees and a gate, and although it sits on the same lake as our house, we have never actually been able to find the finger of the lake where you can actually see the house. So.... the daughter of the retired orthopedic surgeon (with some old family money to back it all up) actually plays on Tabitha's soccer team. They volunteered to host the pre-sectional dinner this afternoon and invited all of the girls to come early and to enjoy their pool.

I made sure that I was the one to take Tabitha so that I could finally see the house!! Amazing!!

The man and his wife (transplants from Phoenix) were more than happy to show me around a bit and although I wasn't bold enough to actually take pictures of their house, I did gather a few from the architect's website. Beautiful!! Tabitha had a wonderful time at the party and although she coveted the house and grounds, she did admit to being very happy that her father is not in his mid-60's!
