Cherry Season

We have a huge old cherry tree in our backyard and Max and Calvin have been keeping daily tabs on the state of the cherries. They were finally deemed ripe enough to eat today so the boys had a great time picking as many ripe ones as they could.

Unfortunately, they eat them almost as quickly as they can pick them so we will never have enough for a pie or cobbler. Max took this picture of some of the cherries on the tree.

Our whole 4 day weekend was about being social and we are pretty tired...

On Friday, we spent the afternoon at the home of a colleague of Josh's. Alan and his wife Gaelle, will be moving to Batesville in July for the next two years. They are a wonderful French family with two boys the same ages as Max and Calvin. We all had a great time getting to know each other and sharing our US knowledge with them. I look forward to helping them transition as much as my friends here have helped me.
Calvin spent all afternoon yesterday at a friend's house and then had a friend here all afternoon today. Josh's current boss and his wife and two kids also came over this afternoon. They will be renting this house after we leave it so they wanted to take some pictures and do some measurements. Fortunately for us, they are also eager to buy some of our appliances. Tabitha had a great time with their two toddlers while the adults visited.

Will they go to St. Louis too? Do the 2 boys know them well? It will be a good way for your kids to keep up their French--and they can kind of be translators for those kids. Where will they live? Mom
