Bikes and Strings

Today, was a nice, relaxing, normal day... After taking the kids to school, I joined 6 women in my biking group to ride 20 km. We hit the trails hard today and rode on some pretty rough terrain. It was absolutely beautiful however as we were always surrounded either by peaceful farmland or the various inlets of the sea. We stopped for only one short break when we reached the end of the peninsula we were riding on and ate the apples we had picked along the way. I always learn something new when I speak to the various friends I have made... I found out today that Coquille St Jacques (a form of seafood that we hear about very often here but had no idea what it was) is actually scallops!! The women also gave me some great trips on freezing and cooking these. After biking, I did my daily grocery run followed by some baking and household chores. The little boys had a great time today as they took their strings to school today and showed the kids how to do various string tricks, like.... Jacob's ladder, the Eiffel Tower, cup and saucer, etc. Tabitha had taught them all of these tricks and they were proud to teach the other kids something that they hadn't seen before.
