Whew!! Josh had a really big day today.... He met Denis, the husband of my friend, Valerie, at their weekend house in La Trinité-sur-Mer at 7:45 a.m. Denis has a large sailboat and had invited Josh to join him for a sailboat race around the island of Belle Isle. The race started at 9 and we didn't hear one word from Josh until they got off the boat at the completion of the race at 8:30 p.m.! They didn't win but they seemed to have had a very good time. Josh said that he could barely get his land legs back after such a long time on the boat.
While Josh was sailing, the kids and I hung out at home enjoying a warm although slightly cloudy day. We did some grocery shopping and playing before heading to yet another beach that is very close by. This time we didn't play on the beach so much as just going for a long walk along the shore. We enjoyed a lot of people watching also as so many people were out today, enjoying the day and the long weekend. There is a beautiful old, old chapel in this area as well, called the Chapelle de Penboch where they apparently hold retreats and seminars. Besides the beach and the chapelle, this area is just gorgeous rolling French countryside. Josh wasn't on any of these boats you see in the pictures, (he was out on the ocean while we were in the gulf) but we enjoyed watching them nonetheless.
