Today was another gorgeous day with a high temperature of about 75 degrees. While driving to Sene to pick up the boys from school for lunch, I noticed that we really don't see people wearing shorts around here. The French seem to only wear shorts for sports activities, so these past couple of days, capris and skirts have been in abundance but not shorts. While driving, I noticed a group of about 4 women wearing shorts, tank tops, and white tennis shoes. My immediate thought was that they must be Americans! I quickly rolled down my window to see if I can hear some of their conversation to know for sure, but I was too slow.
Quincy was disappointed tonight because I made one of his favorite meals for dinner.... smoked salmon and gruyère soufflé. However, his basketball practice went so late that the souffle was deflated by the time he got home.
Tabitha has been working on reading her first French novel with our tutor, Edith. It's difficult but she is relishing the thought of having a bigger variety of books to choose from when she wants to read. She is currently reading the whole Nancy Drew series in English for the 3rd time since we moved here!
Taba and Calvin were having a contest at dinner tonight over who could conjugate avoir and être in the future, present, passé composé, and the imparfait tenses. These kids are leaving me in the dust!!
