Not Just French

Since moving here last August, we have eaten out in some truly wonderful places and enjoyed all sorts of food that we had never experienced before. However, most of this food has been French and most of the restaurants we see on a day to day basis are French with a little Italian sprinkled in. Josh and I truly love a wide variety of food so..... After getting the kids and the dog settled in with some iTunes episodes of the Three Stooges, Josh and I ventured out on foot to see what we could find. We discovered this wonderful little cobblestone street just on the outside of the ramparts of the city where many, many ethnicities were represented with food! We were so excited. We saw everything... Chinese, Afghan, Japanese, Thai, Spanish, Italian, Irish, Vietnamese and Turkish.... to name a few.... We settled on a Vietnamese restaurant and had an amazing meal! The most fantastic pineapple shrimp salad..... Anyway, it was great and we got to enjoy the French dining customs and level of surface with a totally different type of food. Very fun! We strolled home close to midnight and got to sleep in this morning. Today was another lazy day around home because it was raining off and on again. Josh and I did take our daily 4-5 mile walk through the city and around the port. After lunch, we all headed to the mayor's office for another round of getting some more immigrant paperwork taken care of. After the mayor's office, we all hit the port area where we spent several hours in the Vannes Aquarium. What a great place! It is small and a bit crowded today but it is filled with a huge variety of sea creatures and all of the signs were in French and English so we got to really partake.
