The Food Pyramid

Max came home from school today telling me about all the nutrition information that he learned at school. He learned all about how many servings to have from the various food groups, how important it is to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and to get adequate protein.... He also learned that you should have 2 small servings of dark chocolate every day!!! I love this country!!
Quincy was asked by his class to stay at school for the lunch period today. He normally comes home for lunch on Tuesdays but today, his class had challenged another 7th grade class to a game of handball. They claimed that Quincy is their best player so they needed him to play. He stayed and played and had a great time but his team did lose by one point. For any of those that don't know international hand ball, it's just like water polo only sans water! Quincy also had to take several pictures of Batesville and the US to school with him today. His English teacher had assigned the class to come up with questions about Quincy's "home" and wanted him to have pictures available to help him to answer these questions. Quincy said many questions were definitely about cowboys and how huge everything is in the U.S. but the question that he thought was the funniest was...."What is Notre Dame?!" Again for those of you that don't know.... Quincy wears a Notre Dame t-shirt or sweatshirt or something almost every day. He is sure that they have all been dying to know why this American wears an Our Lady shirt all the time since day one! Very funny.
We have discovered that we have a huge cherry tree in our backyard... The kids check the cherries every day just waiting for them to be ripe enough to eat! Coco has already sampled all the ones that have fallen on the ground.
