Best Bargain in France

Only Quincy and Tabitha had school this morning, so the boys and I headed to the "mall" to buy some party supplies and favors for Calvin's birthday party. He will turn 9 on Saturday and could not be more excited.
Today was another perfect day with blue skies and the temperature around 80, so we headed out to enjoy it by meeting some friends at the strawberry picking place. We picked for about 35 minutes and ended up with more than 12 pounds of delicious strawberries! We probably ate almost as much along the way. They are such fun to pick and so cheap at only 3.70 a kilo compared to cost of all other food around here. We were then invited to join our friends at the home of one of them for a snack and some play time. There were more than 15 kids with 4 women and the thing that struck me the most was how independent the kids were. They didn't need the adults to resolve conflicts, keep them in line, or even to take in their snack plates after eating. I think we adults were only interrupted once with a question, in more than 2 hours, and that was by one of my kids! These kids were all ages, ranging from 4 to 14!
