Genie-Style

Today was yet another gorgeous, gorgeous day! (Sorry to all of you midwesterners that are getting nailed by daily storms and tornadoes) We had sunshine, temperatures around 80 degrees, and a gentle breeze. I joined my American friend for coffee this morning before picking up the kids to come home for lunch. After returning everyone to school, Coco and I took a long walk around town and people-watched. It was great fun to see everyone in warm weather clothes since that has been a rare occurrence since our arrival. The styles are quite different from "home" where people are often in tank tops and shorts. Here, a large majority of the women seem to wear skirts or light dresses - some others wear long, loose-fitting linen pants. Most of the men wear capris with a golf style shirt. The young adult/teenage girls mostly wear long fitted shorts that go just below the knee or long, loose pants that gather at the ankle like genie pants! Hmmmmm.... I'm not so sure about that style. Quincy and his buddies were discussing shoes at school yesterday... Quincy was told in no uncertain terms that the "in" shoe is the Converse "chucks" for girls and boys. Is the same true in the States right now?
My garden continues to look beautiful with new flowers blooming all of the time...

That is true in the US also although there are other options.
