Our Block Party

Our guests left today. My aunt and uncle headed off to Paris. We really had a great visit and hated to see them go. This afternoon, I went to a U-Pick It farm with a friend, we picked "beaucoup" strawberries. Very fun and very delicious. My friend told me to "eat as much as you want, they only charge you for what they weigh". Who am I to argue?
Tonight was our block party.... The chairs and tables had been placed in our yard. Our neighbor came over to explain and apologize. Apparently, the city had placed them in our yard for the past 4 years as the previous renter had agreed to this. They were supposed to put them in the next yard this year but somehow, didn't get that message... We really didn't mind so it was no problem. The block party really was right in front of our house. They had a big turn out with probably 30-40 people attending. Everyone brought food, so we had couscous, quiches. cheese, dessert, wine and coffee. We were able to meet lots of people, the kids had a ball playing with the other kids on the block with the street closed to traffic, and even Coco mingled for awhile. Josh and I stuck together and at first spoke only to the people who spoke some English but as the evening wore on, and the wine was poured, we branched out and spoke to just about everyone. Very fun. We have neighbors that range from being retired, to working for their own companies, to being VP's for Dannon, to working for Emerson, to being doctors, to being in charge of all the music schools for our region of France. Very interesting and very fun.
