Today, Calvin got a package in the mail from my mom and dad for Calvin's birthday. He was so excited because it was crammed full of the American things that we can't get here.... plain M&M's, Pokemon cards, Ranch dressing, Kool-Aid, bubble gum, etc. It also had a packet of American flag napkins in it, in honor of Calvin's birthday being on Flag day. So before eating some pork chops for dinner tonight, we waved our flags in the air and then sang the National Anthem at the top of our lungs (with our windows open) much to Quincy's dismay! Very fun! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!!
I was able to get Quincy registered for drum lessons and Calvin for piano lessons to begin in the fall today. I went with my friend Sabine who is more than willing to act as my translator, but today I insisted on doing most of the talking and listening myself. I did pretty well despite the fact that the young girl taking my registration spoke far better English than my French and offered twice to switch into English. I plodded on in French and she very kindly remained patient and supportive. It was actually quite entertaining for all of us! On Friday, I plan to do some basketball registration! Tabitha will register with the National Music Conservatory after she auditions in August. She would like to take her music a bit more seriously than the boys.
Thought you might enjoy seeing some of Tabitha's professional horse back riding shots....
