New Neighbor Friends

Today was just a lazy day of hanging out at home. The little boys had a rare Saturday morning off of school and basketball and soccer season are over so the only thing we had to move around much for was Tabitha's horse back riding lesson. Three of the neighbor kids that our kids met last night came over to ask ours to play. So, off they all headed to a house just around the corner where they played for hours. Very nice.
Last night, at the party, it was very interesting to see that even though everyone brought food and it was set up on a long table as a buffet.... Everyone just stood and had drinks without any eating until some secret signal informed them it was time to eat. Everyone then got their food and in a very civilized manner, ate at the tables. Cheese was then served on a tray that someone carried from table to table and after dessert, someone else came around with a tray of espresso for all who wanted.
It was a very cool evening, temperatures only around 50, and many people were actually wearing sweaters with another sweater tied around their shoulders in case they got even colder. Very funny to see.
Once again, my chocolate chip cookies were a huge hit. Everyone raved about how good and "American" they were. They then asked if I could please bring "muffins" to next year's party.
